Own the Podium recognizes the achievements of Canada’s athletes will not happen without the involvement of dedicated world-class coaches. To meet our goals, we are actively supporting the recruitment, professional development, and retention of talented coaches in guiding athletes to the podium.


Own the Podium Coach Professional Development Program

To ensure that coaches have the training required to successfully prepare their athletes for medal performances at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Own the Podium and the Coaching Association of Canada have created this program for the development of coaches.

This program provides opportunities for:
  • customized training and education;
  • exchange of ideas with international colleagues;
  • consultation with respected mentors;
  • courses which include the completion of NCCP requirements;
  • team professional development opportunities to enhance the preparation of the national team coaching staff;
  • customized seminars at national conferences.
